Reccer's Notes: Where to begin? Using other people's words, this is a tour de force, a redefining of fan fiction itself. Simply brilliant. This is the story of Atlantis, as history will remember it. Using excerpts from the various scholarly texts written about the Atlantis Uprising, Succession, and War, the remembrances of those who lived it, and the conflict as it happened, we get a griping and utterly fascinating look of how it all might end. Please, even if you don’t know or read in the SGA fandom, read this. I’ve read many a story outside of my fandom based solely on recommendations or the subject matter. And hell, this is Cesperanza, who is known far and wide in many fandoms as a brilliant writer. Meta, story, everything. This is why I read fanfiction. Because every once and a while a story will come along and remind me why I have a button that says “Ask me about my obsession.” About 500 (and counting) commentors agree with me. Don't forget to check out all the amazing art, documents, poetry and songs people created to go along with the story.
"I don't expect you to understand this. You can't love a city where you've never lived. But we are part of Atlantis now. Pegasus is in our blood. I don't expect you to understand that either: you would have to have walked through every gate with us. But I cannot leave these people, because they are my people now. "
